Text Box: Two companies, Frontier and Hageland serve the Grayling airport.  Frontier offers daily service from Anchorage to Grayling  through Aniak.  Hageland offers connecting service from Aniak to Grayling.  You may fly into Aniak on PenAir or Frontier.  For more information, see the links below.                          Frontier             Hageland               PenAir   On the day you are scheduled to arrive, please call the school to arrange for someone to meet you at the airport.  School Phone:  (907) 453-5135 Text Box: Air Transportation Text Box: The school district does not provide any housing in Grayling.  Teachers rent from local community members.  The rentals are primarily hand built log cabins.  Typically the floors are painted plywood, however an occasional rental will have remnant carpet patches.  The exterior log walls have fiberglass instillation as chinking.  Interior wall and non-log exterior wall range from untreated plywood to rough finished sheetrock.  Often the counters and sinks are rough build minimally treated plywood and two by fours.  Interior doors run the gamut from fabric coverings, to hinged plywood, to finished doors with door knobs.  Florescent and bar bulb lighting is typical.  Hot and cold running water is typical in rental properties.  It is not unusual for a bathroom to have only plywood walls or a shower stall to be free standing a corner.  Most home come with some furnishing.  The school district also maintains several household items for loan to teachers.  The village infrastructure is within the expected twenty-first century norms.  Most of the homes in Grayling have city water and sewer.  There is a city water treatment plant.  The water is drawn from the Grayling creek.  It is excellent by any standards and superior drinking water by Alaska standards.  Additional filtering is not necessary, however you may want to bring a pitcher style filter system to give your water that extra touch.             Text Box: Housing
